Download calibre from either the source or the ubuntu .deb repository
This is not only useful in getting .lit books into something Android friendly, but also if you happen to have a PDF that you want to work on in another format...
Start Calibre and Add the book (upper left book with a plus), then you can right click on the book and convert
Input Formats: CBZ, CBR, CBC, CHM, EPUB, FB2, HTML, HTMLZ, LIT, LRF, MOBI, ODT, PDF, PRC, PDB, PML, RB, RTF, SNB, TCR, TXT, TXTZ
Output Formats: EPUB, FB2, OEB, LIT, LRF, MOBI, HTMLZ, PDB, PML, RB, PDF, RTF, SNB, TCR, TXT, TXTZ
NOTE: epub is an xml Ebook Standard which allows many platforms/readers and can reflow text, PDF is more rich in security, interactivity, etc.
