Order of driver reload to fix hotkeys (reboot after each install): 1.Shared Library 2.Utilities DLL 3.Event Service (2 and 3 may be bundled together as Sony Notebook Utilities) (Note it's best to get the two major zip downloads, XP Driver 98 MB and Apps 114 MB from Sony.)
As a new TZ-21MN TZ-150N/B owner, The best to the Windows XP Video Card driver problem.
I tried EVERY DAMN THING mentioned in this forum and still could not get my tz-150 to stay at 1366x768 resolution in Windows XP.
Uninstalling the Digital Plat Panel, disabling them, tried Hardware profile, tried all kinds of weird drivers, messed with Regedit,
I don't know why nobody mentioned this problem when downgrading their TZ-100s, are they all happy with their 1024x768 resolution on a 1366x768 screen?!
OK, enough ranting. You know if you install SONY's XP video card driver or the Intel's latest one, your screen will be automatically resized to 1024x768 - this is because the Intel Drivers are automatically installing a 1024x768 Monitor.
All you have to do is, go to Control Panel, System, Device Manager.
Right click on each of the three Digital Flat Panel (1024x768) devices in the Monitor category, and select "Update Drivers".
Choose "Install from a list or specific location", and then "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install", then click NEXT.
Voila, you will see two choices, one is your Digital Flat Panel (1024x768), and another one is a Plug and Play Monitor.
Choose the 2nd one, (plug and play), NEXT, and YOU ARE DONE!
Do the same thing for all three DFP under the Monitor device category.
You can now choose the resolution 1366x768 in Display Properties, and restarting won't affect a thing : D
Damn sony could've told us. Have fun with you now slick and efficient laptop!
