Download and install/extract windows server 2003 utilities (rktools.exe)
cmd.exe so that you can type: instsrv.exe newServiceName "c:\folderpath\srvany.exe" C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Resource Kits\Tools>instsrv.exe APPLICATION "c:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\srvany.exe"
Next, regedit.exe and find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NEWSERVICENAME Add (New) Key = Parameters (looks like a folder on the left underneath Enum and Security)
Right click (or use Edit) add (New) Key -> String (REG_SZ) ... named Application Right click on the key and Modify c:\Value name already equals Application, Value data = "c:\folderpath\application.exe" (NOTE you can also use a .bat too!) "c:\Program Files\APPLICATION\APPLICATIONvfs.exe" Right click (or use Edit) add (New) Key -> String (REG_SZ) ... named AppDirectory Modify value for AppDirectory for local files (e.g. "c:\APPNAME" ) "c:\Program Files\APPLICATION" AppParameters = /parameters  Set APPLICATION as a Service to Logon as a Specific User
Applications may require a certain user context: services.msc Right click on serviceNAME Choose the Log On tab -> This account = USERNAME (and password) (this should be the user that's logged in initially) instsrv.exe serviceNAME remove (deletes from services.msc and registry) APPLICATION is an application so the O:\folders(spaces) are unavailable as it is dismounted during shutdown and mounted separate from the OS during bootup  Mapping APPLICATION Spaces as Network Shares as a Service
Repeat the above process to remap network shares for a .bat file which (after a delay or with recovery?) allow Marketing SecGrp net share finance="o:\Finance" /GRANT:Marketing,CHANGE Recovery Tab for services.msc with "Restart the Service" after 2 minutes...
Removing spaces in filepaths often helps (or adding quotations around "c:\path name" No Share Tab appears in Folder -> Properties? services.msc Computer Browser must be started (try adding Recovery - restart the service) services.msc Server may need to be restarted (also add the Recovery restart the service after 1 minute)
