Openfiler iscsi nas

ADD a second hard drive (if using VMWare)...

  • Using VMWare Console you can see the "login" screen for the VM which tells you the current DHCP IP.
  • Management Interface: https://:446
  • Administrator Username: openfiler
  • Administrator Password: password

Local Networks Scroll down to Network Access Configuration Name - 10.10.10.0 Netmask = 0.0.0.0 (insecure but can be fixed later) SHARE


Volumes Tab -> New Physical Device

Edit Disk (e.g. /dev/sdb)

Create a partition in /dev/sdb (e.g. full size in Primary non raid mode)

You will now see Device /dev/sdb1 = Linux Physical Volume (0x8e) (below "Create a partition in /dev/sdb will give you "can't create any more")

... Create a new Volume Group (enter a name and click on the Create button)

On the right (Volumes section) -> Add Volume Select the Volume Group created earlier and enter a name (e.g. "first") IMPORTANT: use Filesystem = iSCSI (not sure what "volume size" does...)


Services Tab -> iSCSI target server (defaults to Target Configuration) ENABLE!


Volumes Tab -> (right) iSCSI Targets -> ADD button

copy iqn.2006-01.com.openfiler:tsn.6375fdd7a9e9 for later...

LUN Mapping sub tab -> MAP

NETWORK ACL sub tab -> Allow access
