UPS-APC-INSTALL-CHECKLIST
- Turn off all servers
- reposition ups/batteries/servers
- read MAC address & then install network admin card into UPS (if applicable)
- plug in cables to ups/servers (including network cables & switches)
- plug in UPS

configure UPS (cd doesn't work, use serial console port) a. Time/Date b. User password , Authentication Key c. delay on low battery shutdown signal to all servers

install the APC Powerchute Network Shutdown software on all servers (win & linux)
- manually test "send shutdown signal" to servers
- Start all servers again manually (or using Wake on LAN)
- disconnect UPS from mains power and see realtime estimate of "run time" a. disconnect any unnecessary loads if required (e.g. aircon cooler)
- Wait until battery runs to "low battery level" and sends shutdown signal for graceful server shutdown
- Reconnect mains power to UPS - do servers also restart?
