win2k3 server not enough storage space

Windows xp/2003 gives an error "not enough storage space" when copying/moving large files with network drives

  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. Type regedit and then click OK.
  3. Navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters

  4. In the right pane, export and then delete the value IRPStackSize. (OR CREATE the key IRP StackSize)

Click Edit, point to New, and then click DWORD Value. a. Type IRPStackSize, and then press ENTER to name the value.

Note Type IRPStackSize exactly as it is displayed. The value name is case sensitive. b. Click Edit, and then click Modify. c. In the Data Value box, type the value that is appropriate for the network, and then click OK.

  1. Close the Registry Editor.
  2. Restart the computer and test the issue again.
