If you see text go "invisible" in certain applications (e.g. Terminal or Bluefish or Firefox) you can try changing the font and see if that "fixes" the problem...
The actual problem being a corrupted font.
OR you may not have the font the web page wants and it's not degrading gracefully (ie your backup font is corrupted too!)
