GUI VERSIONS OF XRANDR (not used, instead GNOME + ATI Driver)
http://christian.amsuess.com/tools/arandr/ http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/app/grandr/ http://www.albertomilone.com/urandr.html
apt-get install gnome-core
System -> Preferences -> Monitors Detect sees the second display, turn it on, but it warns me the "virtual display settings size" has to be adjusted (wait then sudo)
Need a logout/login again...
Tried VGA cable and got light blue output (but not a working display)
Downloaded that ATI Radeon HD driver from their website, will try advanced config
ATI driver from 2011 allowed me to have mirrored displays on HDMI
ATI CONTROL CENTER ADMINISTRATIVE Advanced config takes a lot of clicks to figure out but eventually clicking on the mini second display and choosing Multi Display prompted for a restart (had to manually shut down)
IT WORKS!
